Eye Drops Don't Cure Dry Eyes

Dry eye is a condition I treat every single day, and one thing I always tell my patients is this: it rarely gets better on its own, but it responds beautifully to the right routine. Here's a short, useful reminder of the tips and treatments worth knowing — whether you've seen me before or you're just starting to look into it.

Five Daily Habits I Recommend

  • 01Warm compress over closed lids for 5–10 minutes, once or twice daily, to soften blocked oil glands.
  • 02Blink consciously and fully every 20 minutes — especially on screens, where blink rate drops by nearly half.
  • 03Use a preservative-free lubricating drop rather than "get the red out" drops, which can worsen dryness long-term.
  • 04Clean the lid margins gently each evening — crusting and debris at the lash line feed inflammation.
  • 05Consider an omega-3 supplement; it supports the oily layer of your tear film from the inside out.

Treatments We Offer, Beyond Drops

Roughly 70% of dry eye cases trace back to blocked meibomian (oil) glands — not a lack of tears. That's why, for many patients, drops alone never solve the root problem. At the clinic, we treat the cause directly with Eye-Light®, our 20-minute IPL and LED therapy that unblocks oil glands, calms inflammation, and restores a healthier tear film — often reducing how often you need to reach for drops.
